About
About Parea Radio
Parea Radio is an independent, community-oriented online radio platform based in Athens.
Rooted in the idea of parea — a circle of friends gathered around sound — the station exists as a shared space for listening, exchange and documentation. It is built around presence rather than performance, continuity rather than volume.
In a world saturated with content, Parea Radio is interested in discovering and sharing culture together. We treat radio not as output, but as practice — a way of holding space for research, emotion, experimentation and dialogue.
Broadcasting curated weekly shows, we focus on contemporary listening practices: DJ sets, exploratory selections, conversations and formats that move between music and context. Each program is treated as a document — of a moment, a scene and an individual listening process.
As space for exchange
Parea Radio aims to support the exploration of sound and radio in whatever way we can. We want this platform to remain open to those who may have limited access to creative infrastructures, while maintaining a careful curatorial approach built on trust.
Within this space, people connect, exchange ideas and create around music across genres and approaches. Sound becomes a meeting point — a way to bridge differences, spark necessary conversations and build friendships.
We start from Athens — its clubs, home studios, contradictions and margins — and expand outward through affinity rather than trend. Local scenes are not isolated; they are interconnected with parallel energies internationally. Through broadcasting, collaboration and future gatherings, we hope to make invisible networks visible.
